![]() Now days this is common, but a few years ago there wasn't a lot of companies that supported printing directly to label printers from windows. This driver made it possible to print to a zebra printer from any windows application. I loaded the seagull scientific windows zebra printer drivers. While I don't often give away my tricks here is what I did (understand this was about 6 years ago). I had to create a custom label for a customer so I had to learn a bit of zpl because they needed a simple label but it had to have a label counter (x of y) with a barcode. Especially, since the pdf is also automatically an 8.5x11. I suspect the zpl file has the wrong paper size or something. ![]() The order entry team was already planning on a conference call with Amazon tomorrow morning and so now I am piggy-backing on it. The problem with that is that the zpl file is generated by Amazon's vendor central page. You will have to make the adjustments in the software the creates the zpl file.īut it sounds like you are now moving in a positive direction. ![]() You may not be able to tweak anything in the printer instance since windows isn't touching the zpl file. I would expect the printed one to look the same as the ftp one (actually this is a good thing) since the zpl file is now being sent to the printer and windows isn't trying to rasterize it. I am trying to see if there are any settings I can tweak on the printer instance to get the label to print correctly. The label looks very similar to the one submitted via FTP. I was able to get through the configuration and successfully print to the printer after opening the zpl in notepad++. Once it works then you can focus on improving the process. We are only trying to get it to work through a method. Now if you open the zpl file in something like ms write and print it from there to this text only printer. This is a legacy text only printer that doesn't support graphics or control codes (this is what we want). ![]() This is a printer you probably never use. It will either be lpd or a raw port like 9000 or 9100.ģ) Add a generic text only printer. Since you said this is a network printer you should already have the connection info. If you don't have success with amazon lets try this (sorry I'm out of the office till next Wednesday or I could mock this up in the lab.Ģ) Create a new local tcpip printer port to connect to the zebra printer. As the output is PDF, you can rotate 90 degrees and print it 6X 4 if your printer is set that way.Īgain the text only print queue "should work". We are changing our PDF output format to standard 4 X 6 label size without any borders so that you can directly print from your printer. If the PDF file doesn't suit your comfort zone then please feel free to fall back to old (legacy) PO labels or your own labels for now as the relevant chargeback is planned to start only from Q4 (October 2014) onwards. ![]() Please utilize the PDF option till we rectify. This is a known issue which we are actively working on as we received similar complaints from few other vendors as well. No call, no email, just this brief answer: I checked Vendor Central for the status of my case this morning and it has been closed. ![]()
